Chelsea have become the first Women’s Super League team to go unbeaten across a 22-game season.
The Blues beat Liverpool 1-0 on Saturday when academy product Aggie Beever-Jones scored a second half stoppage-time winner.
Beever-Jones capped off a historic season for Chelsea WomenGettyVictory was their 19th of the campaign to equal the record they set themselves at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
But Chelsea have now elevated their success even further by ending the season without a defeat in any of their 22 league matches.
It’s an achievement that no other side has claimed since the Women’s Super League extended to 12 teams in the 2019/20 season.
Furthermore, Chelsea’s final points tally of 60 is the highest ever in a 22-game season.
The Blues lifted their sixth consecutive title in front of fans at Stamford Bridge and are now celebrating the eighth in their history.
Sonia Bompastor has led Chelsea to victory and her first season at the club after succeeding the legendary Emma Hayes last summer.
“It is difficult to realise [what it means],” she told Sky Sports. “We had the opportunity to play our final home game here in front of our fans and as you can see the atmosphere was amazing.
“I think as a manager, players and staff you only live these moments maybe once in your life.
“It is difficult to believe but you need to enjoy it because it is a great achievement.”
Chelsea won the Women’s Super League title on April 30 by beating Manchester United 1-0.

Bompastor’s side also won the Subway Women’s League Cup in March with a 2-0 victory over Manchester City.
Chelsea could complete a treble on May 18 when they meet United at Wembley for the Women’s FA Cup final.
Amid the domestic success, they are yet to claim Champions League glory and finally add European silverware to their trophy cabinet.
The Blues were beaten 8-2 on aggregate by Barcelona in this season’s semi-finals after going unbeaten in all six group stage matches.
However, next season offers another chance of winning, with a seventh consecutive Women’s Super League title also being eyed.
