Wade Taylor IV has officially declared for the 2025 NBA Draft following an excellent career in College Station.
And what a career it was. Taylor and the Aggies were never able to break deep into the NCAA Tournament, but Taylor finished his 4 years in College Station as the Aggies’ all-time leading scorer. His 2,058 career points surpassed Bernard King for the honor.
On Saturday, Taylor penned a goodbye to Aggie Nation while also officially declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft. Taylor has exhausted his remaining eligibility after playing a grand total of 141 games across 4 seasons. He specifically shouted out former head coach Buzz Willaims, the 12th Man and his family in the post.

— Luke Evangelist (@lukeevangelist_) May 3, 2025Taylor posted 4 good seasons at Texas A&M, but his best year came in 2023, his sophomore season. Taylor shot an impressive 57% effective FG% despite standing at only 6-feet tall against SEC competition. It was also his best year from range – he hit 79 of his 222 3-point attempts, a strong 35.6%.
Obviously, there have been a lot of changes around Texas A&M basketball. Williams is off to Maryland, triggering a mass exodus into the transfer portal which left A&M with just one scholarship player – reserve forward Chris McDermott. Incoming head coach Bucky McMillan has done solid work in the portal given the circumstances, but still has a lot of work to do before the start of next season.
