A MECHANIC has revealed a three-step car air conditioning hack that is perfect for the summer and costs less than $3.

The YouTuber revealed that all it takes is a disinfectant spray – like the Lysol To Go Spray that can be picked up for just $2.59 at Target.
Showing the three-step method, Scotty said: “Here’s the easiest way to clean them, turn the air-con on full blast, the fresh air is being sucked in here.
“These are the air intakes, so you spray it in here, so the cleaner is sucked in and goes through the whole system, and then the cleaner will exit through the vents.
“Now, if you are really susceptible to strong smells, roll the windows down and don’t sit in the car.
“Do it for about five minutes, then let it air dry for an hour, and it will go away.”
Scotty added that the spray will kill the bacteria and recommends doing the short job twice a week over the summer.
This comes as a woman realized too late that she’d made a very costly mistake after putting off a crucial maintenance job on her car for some 25,000 miles.
In a viral clip shared on TikTok, which currently boasts over 574,000 views, a car owner named Gaby revealed her major blunder when it came to routinely changing her vehicle’s oil.
In the video, which can be found under the TikTok handle @gabycuyler, she says: “I haven’t gotten an oil change since June of last year, which is 23,000 miles ago.
“I didn’t realize that was bad because I thought I was supposed to get one every 15,000 miles.”
She also holds up a Firestone sticker that shows the date her next oil change for her Nissan was due.
Pointing at the number on the sticker, which reads ‘+5,000,’ Gaby says: “It looks to me like it said 15,000 miles.
“I Googled it yesterday because my car was flashing and saying, ‘Warning, you have really low oil.’
“And I found out you have to get an oil change every 5,000 miles… I can’t believe my car didn’t break on the spot.”
And elsewhere, a new law has come into effect this week that sees drivers of certain vehicles risk huge fines.
That’s unless they provide safety presentations to customers before the trip begins.

Have your A/C system checked. If freon is low and needs charging or parts need to be replaced, it’s essential to address the issue before temperatures rise. Make sure your tires are appropriate for warmer weather. If you live in a climate that necessitates a dedicated winter tire, swap them with all-season or summer tires if possible to extend the life of the winter tire. Winter tires are softer and will wear out much quicker in warmer weather. Look at tread depth. Tires with low tread depth will make it more difficult to stop your car if you need to avoid an accident. Give your car some TLC.
