(KRON) — The San Jose Police Department seized seven guns from multiple suspected gang members and one youth during three hours of police work Saturday.
“Keeping San Jose safe isn’t luck, it’s good policing,” SJPD wrote on social media following the busts. “Officers will continue to maintain a strong presence throughout the weekend to ensure our community can celebrate safely and responsibly. Stay safe!”

“[SJPD] has taken four additional firearms off the streets during proactive stops involving suspected gang members,” SJPD said. “Let’s be clear: If you’re coming to San Jose to commit crimes or bring guns into our community, don’t. Our officers will be out in full force all weekend, protecting our neighborhoods so families can enjoy Cinco de Mayo safely. Celebration belongs to the community. Crime doesn’t.”
