Starting May 15, shoppers will be able to order the Keith Haring – Dancing Figures LEGO set, which they just announced. The set includes 1,773 pieces and costs $119.99. As the name of the LEGO set states, this is based on one of Haring’s pieces, Untitled (Dance), from 1987. As MyArtBroker reported, Haring came up with the emergence of American Street Art, getting his start with graffiti art. His work brought attention to many issues at the time, including the fight against HIV/AIDS. Keith Haring – Dancing Figures, $119.99 at LEGO
The colors on this set aren’t an exact one-to-one comparison to Haring’s original work, but they’re pretty close (odds are LEGO didn’t have pieces that fit within this build that matched exactly). But the figures match Haring’s style very well and fans of his work will definitely be obsessed with this LEGO recreation. Like with a lot of LEGO’s other art pieces, you are able to hang these on the wall if you please. Each figure is separate, so you can arrange them however you like. You can also display them on a flat surface thanks to their clear display stands.
