Northern Colorado junior hurdler Jerome Campbell was named the Big Sky Conference track athlete of the week Monday following a third-place finish at the University of Texas.
Campbell’s time of 13.66 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles Friday in Austin, Texas is one of the best times in the Big Sky Conference during the outdoor season. He finished third in the race behind Texas Tech’s Malachi Snow (13.38) and Jamar Marshall Jr. of Houston (13.39).
The Big Sky award is the first for UNC of the outdoor season.
The UNC men’s and women’s teams are scheduled to compete again at Colorado State’s Doug Max Invitational on Saturday in Fort Collins.
