Vista Community Clinic is shining a spotlight on the serious risks of alcohol misuse this Alcohol Awareness Month, urging the community to prioritize prevention, education, and support for those in need.
Alcohol misuse is a serious public health issue that affects people of all ages and backgrounds. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, over 29 million people aged 12 and older had Alcohol Use Disorder in 2022.
At VCC, behavioral health professionals and medical providers can address this issue through accessible, integrated care, making help accessible every day of the year.
“As a community health center, we see firsthand how alcohol misuse can impact individuals and families,” said Dr. Mitesh Patel, director of Behavioral Health Services at VCC. “In raising awareness, we want to also remind our patients and community members that they’re not alone. Help is available, and recovery is possible.”
VCC’s substance use program is its Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services offers induction and injection options for medications that treat alcohol and opioid addiction. These services offer patients a safe, effective path to recovery, supported by a dedicated team of medical and behavioral health professionals.

VCC also offers a range services to support patients seeking help. Services are available to individuals of all ages, regardless of insurance or income status.
