Mississippi State is adding an offensive lineman to its 2025 roster via the transfer portal.
Former Colorado lineman Zack Owens has committed to MSU to continue his college football career. It’s a return to the South for Owens after a season in Boulder.

In his original recruitment, he was rated 4-stars, the No. 20 offensive tackle, No. 22 player in the state of Georgia and No. 251 prospect overall in the Class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite. Owens signed with Clemson over scholarship from 23 other programs, including Mississippi State.
At Clemson, Owens made only 2 appearances during the 2023 season, playing just 13 offensive snaps. He took a redshirt for his true freshman season.
As a redshirt freshman, Owens again saw limited playing time. According to PFF, he logged only 11 snaps on the season.
Though he only has limited experience, Owens gives the Mississippi State offensive line notable size to along with the maturity of a third-year player. He is listed at 6-6, 345 pounds.
