Georgia significantly beefed up its backcourt for next season with the addition of 4-star transfer point guard Jordan Ross on Monday.
Ross’s transfer to Georgia from West Coast Conference power Saint Mary’s was reported by Matt Zenitz of 247Sports. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Ross arrives in Athens with 2 years of eligibility remaining. He’s got the potential to be a real difference-maker for head coach Mike White as a former top-100 recruit who was the 3rd-best point guard available in the transfer portal.

— Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) April 28, 2025Ross’s signing is already Georgia’s 4th addition via the portal and the 3rd addition to its backcourt. The other portal additions are Cal guard Jeremiah Wilkinson, Wofford guard Justin Bailey and BYU forward Kanon Catchings.
The addition of Ross is another key momentum builder for the Bulldogs, who are coming off a solid 20-13 season last year that saw the program make the NCAA Tournament. Ironically, Georgia’s season ended in the first round with a blowout loss to Gonzaga, which is Saint Mary’s hated rival in the West Coast Conference.
Ross spent 2 seasons at Saint Mary’s. He averaged 8.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last season for the Gaels. He didn’t shoot the ball particularly well, though, with a 38.0% clip from the field and a 29.3% mark from 3-point territory. Ross also struggled at the free-throw line, shooting just 68.7% from the charity stripe.
The season before, Ross was the only true freshman to play for Saint Mary’s.
