The Arizona Cardinals selected Texas offensive guard Hayden Conner with the No. 211 pick (sixth round) in the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday.
The 6-foot-6, 314-pounder is coming off his fourth season at Texas where he started all 16 games at left guard. He was named a Joe Moore Award finalist. The honor is given out to the nation’s best offensive lineman.
The Cardinals’ biggest needs entering Day 3 revolved around the offensive line, with guard the most pressing.
Evan Brown is expected to slide into a starting role much like he did last year, while Isaiah Adams figures to get first crack at the spot opposite the veteran.
Backup Jon Gaines II has been applauded for his practice habits but has yet to be a meaningful contributor along the interior.

Beyond those names, Arizona’s guard depth falls off a cliff.
The work goes beyond the guard spot for the Cardinals, though.
While there are options at the offensive tackle spot opposite Paris Johnson Jr., age and injury status are factors that must be considered.
All signs pointed to Jonah Williams taking over at right tackle after coming aboard last offseason. Instead, Williams’ first year in Arizona was filled with injury, resulting in just six starts.
His replacement in 2024, Kelvin Beachum, has started 62 games for Arizona since he came to town in 2020, but is on a one-year deal and nearing the end of his career.
Beyond those names, Arizona has Christian Jones as another option to consider, though he only appeared in two games (one start) as a rookie.
Who have the Cardinals taken so far in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Ahead of Conner landing with Arizona, the Cardinals went out and added Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen III with the No. 16 overall pick on Thursday night.
They came back around on Day 2 and took Michigan cornerback Will Johnson at No. 47 (second round) before nabbing Oregon pass rusher Jordan Burch at No. 78 (third round).
Then came Saturday, when the Cardinals selected Ohio State linebacker Cody Simon at No. 115 and cornerback Denzel Burke at No. 174.
