BRITAIN’S Got Talent has found itself locked in a huge fix row following the results of the first semi-final.
Amid a live show filled to the brim with chaos and blunders and acts going missing, ITV viewers were left seriously unhappy with the end result.
RexFuming BGT fans have blasted the show as a fix[/caption] RexLinda was sent home in favour of fellow singer Vinnie[/caption]In a format change, one judge was allowed to send an act through to the final by using the golden buzzer as well as whoever received the top votes from the public.
In previous series, the act with the most votes automatically sailed through to the final with the panel then deciding who they preferred out of the second and third place.
In tonight’s show, it was revealed that singer Vinnie McKee had topped the public vote and found himself in the final.
He beat fellow singer Linda Mudzenda who finished the night with the second most votes.
However, it did not take long before fans were quick to have their say as they insisted the wrong result had been landed upon.
One fan even branded the outcome a “fix” in a scathing comment.
They wrote online: “No way #BGT Was that a public vote !! Mediocre pub singer wins ! No way total fix by #SimonCowell.”
Another added: “LINDA IS OUT?! A f***ing fix. Vinnie is good but he’s not world class talent.
“What a mess this semi final was, possibly the worst semi final we’ve ever had. Simon get that lie detector helmet on.”
Before a third shared: “That’s a fix. She was better than him.”
Whilst a fourth echoed: THE SINGERS TOP 2 ARE YOU F***ING SERIOUS Simon stop making the fact that it’s a fix so f***ing obvious.”
It wasn’t the only chaos to hit the evening with act Teddy Magic failing to appear on stage for his act before it was later confirmed that he would not be performing.
Ant and Dec confirmed he would not appear as planned and then proceeded to say that they hoped to see him in another show over the coming weeks.
Teddy took to his Instagram to say “we are sorry about this” on his story.
Earlier on in the show, Ant and Dec were forced to reveal that Teddy was “delayed” backstage.
The Geordie duo shared with the audience – and judges – how Teddy was delayed, which left head judge Simon Cowell looking less than impressed.
With Simon looking angry, Ant and Dec then affirmed how he is only eight years of age, but Simon didn’t seem sympathetic.
Britain's Got Talent's biggest 'fix' rows
Britain's Got Talent has been plagued with 'fix' rows over the years. How many of these do you remember?
Jasmine Elcock – 2016: Teenage singer Jasmine Elcock stunned the nation with her version of Cher’s Believe. But it then transpired she had already performed professionally in London’s West End. Jasmine, 14, admitted: “I’ve performed in Annie in the West End at about the age of nine or 10, but I really get nervous.”
IrShad Shaikh – 2017: BGT fans were left questioning the rule book when IrShad Shaikh auditioned. He got four red buzzers from the judges, which would usually mean an instant dismissal. Yet in a strange turn of events, they let him continue with his act…and put him through to the next round.
Colin Thackery – 2019: Elderly war veteran Colin won BGT in 2019, but there was an outcry over the final. He warbled his place to win with a version of We’ll Meet Again but fans were furious that escapologist Jonathan Goodwin didn’t even rank in the top three. Viewers felt Jonathan – who almost suffocated while being buried alive in a gravel pit – should have won.
Axel Blake – 2022: Comedian Axel Blake was given a Golden Buzzer in 2022 after making the judges laugh. But fans were fuming when they discovered Axel already had a show on worldwide streaming platform Amazon Prime. Despite this, Axel still went on to win the series.
Taryn Charles – 2024: Singer Taryn Charles is one of this year’s hopefuls lucky enough to receive the Golden Buzzer. Bruno Tonilio put her straight through to the semi-finals following her performance of (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin, but it has now come to light that she is no stranger to TV. Viewers recognised Taryn from an episode of ITV1’s Starstruck, where she impersonated Whitney Houston for judges Olly Murs, Sheridan Smith, Adam Lambert and Beverley Knight.
