Dallas selected Alabama offensive lineman Tyler Booker at No. 12 overall.
Booker was in attendance and took to the stage for his big moment.
He held up his Dallas Cowboys shirt after shaking commissioner Roger Goodell’s hand.
And Booker was interviewed by NFL Network’s Jamie Erdahl while wearing a Cowboys cap.
“I’m super excited,” he said. “I’m blessed to be a Cowboy.
“There’s a great tradition of great offensive linemen.
“I’m excited to follow suit with all that came before me.”
Erdahl noted that Booker didn’t give up a quarterback sack during his final year in college.
And the offensive lineman delivered a message to his new signal caller Prescott.
“I can’t wait to get on the phone with Dak,” he said.
“Get him the protection he needs and make sure he goes clean every single game.
“I’m just so excited to be a Cowboy.”
Dallas’ pick Thursday drew praise from NFL host Kay Adams.
“Dak Prescott is lucky,” she said. “Natural protector, love this!”
But defensive powerhouse Micah Parsons had a very different reaction.
Parsons appeared on the Bleacher Report live stream Thursday night.
He was speechless when the pick was announced.
Parsons later said, “I am excited about this pick – This guy is a beast.
“I look at him and Tyler Smith, guard on guard with Zack Martin leaving, this is one of them picks, I mean wow.”
Parsons added, “I just wanted to see that on my side of the ball.
“But this guy is a beast, I’m not mad at the pick.”
