Cooper Flagg has made it official.
The star Duke freshman has formally declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. Flagg made the announcement in a post on Instagram.
“Duke fans, my teammates, the brotherhood and everybody that was along for this journey, it was an incredible year, probably the best year of my life,” Flagg said in a video message. “I have so much gratitude. I feel so blessed for all the opportunities that I was given. Duke has always been a dream for me but I’m excited to announce that I’ll be entering my name in the 2025 NBA Draft. Today is just the beginning but I’ll have the brotherhood with me for life.”
A projected top pick, Flagg leaves Durham after a decorated season with the Blue Devils. He collected numerous National Player of the Year honors, including the Wooden and Naismith awards. Flagg was also named POTY by the USBWA, NABC and AP.
The 6-9, 225-pound Flagg started all 37 games for Duke in the 2024-25 campaign. He averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists over 30.5 minutes per game.
Flagg led Duke to the Final Four. He earned East Region Most Outstanding Player recognition for lifting the Blue Devils over Arizona and Alabama.
Duke’s season ended with a Final Four loss to Houston. Flagg was outstanding in the game, recording 27 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals. He became just the fifth player in the 2000s to make the NCAA All-Tournament Team without playing in the national title game.
