AN MLB franchise has seen disappointing returns in attendance just three weeks into the 2025 season.

The MLB team also entered the game with a winning record.

On Wednesday, MLB blogger Dan Clark informed his close to 63,500-plus followers on X that the Miami Marlins had a very low-attended ball game the previous night.

Clark posted a clip showing the many empty seats just minutes before game time as he shared that the Marlins would have 7,324 fans watch the team take on the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Marlins’ Loan Depot Park has a capacity of 37,000.

The blogger also noted that the Marlins entered the game with an 8-7 record, and “the weather was 79 degrees with clear.”

“MLB has a big problem in Miami,” Clark added.

The Diamondbacks also entered the game with a winning record (9-7).

MLB fans were in awe of the attendance problem with the Marlins, not of the positive variety.

“Its pretty impressive how little attendance they get,” one wrote.

“sad to see. fun team with a beautiful park. i catch a handful each year,” another commented.

“If you’re from the area, you know why the numbers are what they are. Horrendous location for a ball park,” a third added.

The Diamondbacks would go on to win Tuesday’s game, 10-4.

The Marlins are known for struggling with low attendance for several reasons.

Among the likely factors are high ticket prices, the fans’ feeling that the team doesn’t invest enough in payroll, the lack of competitive success over the past 20 seasons, and stadium location.

Last season, the Marlins had an average attendance of 13,425, a decrease from the previous year’s average of 14,355.

The Marlins aren’t the only franchise currently dealing with attendance issues.

The St. Louis Cardinals’ attendance at Busch Stadium ranks 13th in MLB, down from seventh last year.

The team has averaged less than 30,000 fans through its first 12 home games, despite coming up with wins at Busch.

The MLB did see a second consecutive year of attendance increase in 2024, topping 71 million fans.

But the usual teams, usually of the small-market variety, like the Marlins, have continued to see underwhelming attendance returns as the 2025 season is three weeks old.
