(KRON) -- The Pinole Police Department confirmed to KRON4 that it is probing the video of a woman's racist rant during an encounter that has gone viral online.
1 injured after attempted robbery in quiet Walnut Creek residential areaPinole police said officers were called to the report of a fight in the parking lot near the Pear Street Bistro on Sunday. Police said they contacted three people at the scene, two of whom were involved in an argument.
Police said the two individuals were separated and the incident was determined to be "verbal in nature." "Due to the nature of the verbal exchange between the parties, the incident has been classified as a hate incident, not a hate crime," police added.
On one social media account, a video of the incident has garnered 35.5 million views at the time of this report. (WARNING: Content has offensive language.)
