Justin Bieber's Former Collaborators Speak Out: ‘Hope He’s OK’ ...Middle East

UPDATE — 4/16/25, at 3:03 p.m. ET: Justin Bieber’s rep addressed The Hollywood Reporter’s article, saying in a statement to Us Weekly, “This is just clickbait stupidity based on unnamed — and clearly ill-informed — ‘sources,’ disappointed that they no longer work with Justin.”

The statement continued, “As Justin forges his own way forward, these unnecessary stories and inaccurate assumptions will continue. But, they won’t deter him from staying committed to following the right path.”

Original story:

Justin Bieber’s former collaborator Poo Bear is weighing in on fan concern for the “Baby” singer’s well-being.

“Whatever he’s going through, I pray for him and hope he’s OK,” Poo Bear, 45, told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on Wednesday, April 16.

Poo Bear — who cowrote some of Bieber’s hit tracks including “Despacito” and “What Do You Mean?” — wasn’t the only one in the musician’s circle to address Bieber’s health.

“Seeing him disintegrate like this … it’s watching the embodiment of someone not living their purpose,” an ex team member told the outlet. “He’s lost. There’s no one protecting him because there’s no one there willing to say no to him. You say no, you get blown out.”

A source close to Bieber, 31, meanwhile, told The Hollywood Reporter that there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to the singer.

“Artists are artists — they don’t look at the world the way you and I do,” the insider said. “He’s healthier than all of us — physically and mentally.”

Justin Bieber's Rep Addresses 'Harmful' Rumors Singer Is Using Drugs

In recent months, Bieber has sparked fan concern for his behavior. One example was when Bieber stopped following his wife, Hailey, on Instagram in January. At the time, he quickly set the record straight and clarified he wasn’t the one to unfollow her. (The couple, who wed in 2018, welcomed son Jack Blues in 2024.)

“Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife,” he wrote via his Instagram Story at the time. “S— is getting suss out here.”

The next month, a source exclusively told Us that Bieber is “happier than he’s been in a long time,” adding that he “just really doesn’t care what people think.”

As concern grew for his well-being, the musician’s rep told TMZ in February that rumors about Bieber using hard drugs are “absolutely not true” and called the speculation “exhausting and pitiful.” His rep noted that rumors about Justin’s mental health and alleged drug use “shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”

Why Are Fans Concerned About Justin Bieber? A Timeline of Concerning Posts

A source exclusively told Us in February that Hailey, 28, is “trying to be as supportive as possible,” adding, “It can be hard for Hailey, but she’s always there for him and is understanding.”

In March, Bieber opened up about navigating life in the public eye. “People told me my whole life, ‘Wow Justin, u deserve that’ and I personally have always felt unworthy,” he wrote via his Instagram Story. “Like I was a fraud. Like when people told me I deserve something, it made me feel sneaky, like, damn if they only knew my thoughts. How judgmental I am, how selfish I really am. They wouldn’t be saying this. I say all this to say if you feel sneaky, welcome to the club. I definitely feel unequipped and unqualified most days.”

Later that month, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Hailey was no longer following Justin on Instagram. However, Us confirmed at the time that the singer deactivated and then reactivated his account, throwing the cache system into a glitch.

Hailey went on to respond to a TikTok video discussing her alleged Instagram estrangement with Bieber, writing, “It’s a glitch. Didn’t unfollow him. Hope this helps!”
