GASTONIA, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A Gastonia man is facing multiple serious charges in connection with a violent, deadly four-car crash that happened last month.
Authorities said Raterrio Titian Sheppard, 38, was arrested on Wednesday evening at his home by the Gastonia Police Department.
The crash, which occurred on March 28, 2025, in the 1500 block of Hoffman Road, left one woman dead and critically injured two others, including a child.
According to police, Sheppard was behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger and allegedly engaged in a street race with a white Dodge Challenger driven by Porscha Mason. During the high-speed incident, police said Mason's vehicle collided head-on with a Toyota Highlander carrying a woman and two young girls.

The female driver of the Highlander and one of the juveniles remain hospitalized with critical injuries, police said. The second juvenile was treated and released with minor injuries.
Sheppard is now facing a slew of charges, including second-degree murder, felony hit and run causing serious injury, engaging in a speed competition, reckless driving, and operating a vehicle without a license.
Sheppard is currently being held at the Gaston County Jail without bond.
