Ducks sign Carey Terrance to 3-year, entry-level deal ...Middle East

The Ducks have signed forward Carey Terrance to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Terrance, 19, was selected by the Ducks in the second round (No. 59 overall) of the 2023 NHL draft.

He captained the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League this season and has 91 points in 101 games across the past two OHL campaigns.

Terrance will begin his pro career having already triumphed three times on the international stage. He won gold medals with Team USA at the U18 level in 2023 before doing it twice at the U20 level in 2024 and 2025.

Like former Ducks defenseman Brandon Montour, Terrance is a member of the Mohawk Nation of Akwesasne.

Also like Montour, Terrance’s skating is his best asset, though he also has intangibles in the form of competitiveness and leadership experience at the junior level.

Terrance’s Otters upended the defending Memorial Cup champion Saginaw Spirit and will next face the No. 1 seed in the West, the London Knights.

Terrance, however, hasn’t been along for the ride. He crashed into the boards on Valentine’s Day, requiring immobilization and a brief hospitalization. He never lost any mobility but has been sidelined for the past two months as a result of the frightening play.
