In a statement carried by Mehr NewsAgency, the ministry stressed that Iran would respond “immediately and firmly”to any threat against the Islamic Republic, citing “continuing maliciousactions” by Israeli forces in the region and recent threats from US PresidentDonald Trump.

Such actions, the ministry warned, violatethe United Nations Charter and the safeguards under the International AtomicEnergy Agency (IAEA). “Violence breedsviolence, peace begets peace. The US can choose the course...; and concede to CONSEQUENCES…,”it wrote on X.

In a significant escalation ofrhetoric, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has warned that theUnited States would face a "strong reciprocal blow" if it acts on Trump'srecent threat to bomb Iran unless a new nuclear deal is agreed upon. ​

Tehran has rejected Trump's offerfor direct negotiations, citing distrust after the US previously withdrew fromthe nuclear deal. President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that while indirectnegotiations remain possible, direct talks are off the table.
