Arkansas fell to Texas Tech 85-83 in overtime of the Sweet 16 on Thursday night.
The Razorbacks appeared to be in complete control of this matchup until things started deteriorating late in regulation.
Arkansas led by as many as 16 points in the 2nd half. The Razorbacks even held a double-digit advantage until the Red Raiders got within 8 with 3:21 remaining.
From that point forward until the end of regulation, Arkansas’s only points came on a Karter Knox 3-pointer with 1:28 to go. At the time, that gave Arkansas a 6-point lead. But Texas Tech went on to hit 2 more 3-pointers and Arkansas came up empty on its remaining offensive possessions.
In overtime, it was a back-and-forth affair that ended up with Texas Tech taking the lead with just over 7 seconds remaining. John Calipari chose not to call his final timeout, instead trusting his offense to play it out. DJ Wagner got a shot off at the buzzer, but it fell short.
