Jaguars bolster defensive line in Daniel Jeremiah's mock draft 2.0 ...Middle East

Sport by : (jaguarswire) -

One of the best in the business, Daniel Jeremiah, released his second 2025 NFL mock draft. So who did he have the Jacksonville Jaguars taking this time?

In the first edition, Jeremiah had the Jaguars selecting Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham, and he stuck with that selection for Jacksonville in mock draft 2.0.

“This seems like a perfect marriage between need, talent and fit,” wrote Jeremiah. “Graham is one of the most consistent players in the class.”

The Jaguars play up front has to improve this season. According to ESPN’s pass rush win rate metric, the Jaguars’ defensive front as a whole ranked 32nd last year. They also ranked 32nd in pressure rate. Against the run, Jacksonville was 27th in run-stop rate.

Graham has shown his ability to get after the quarterback, generating 34 pressures and five sacks in 2024. However, his biggest impact has come against the run.

By Pro Football Focus’ metrics, Graham ranked first in run defense grade among his position group and he was second in run-stop rate as well.

Graham can obviously fill up his own column in the stat sheet, but when a defense has a commanding presence in the middle of the defensive front, all the other defenders around that player benefit. The attention that Graham draws and the space he occupies can create advantageous matchups for others to exploit.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ performance in the Super Bowl showcased just how valuable an excellent defensive front can be.

Slowing the opponents’ run game puts the offense behind the sticks and in predictable passing situations, and we all know the importance of pressuring the quarterback.
