The Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIX result will be viewed as a forgettable performance. The team could not achieve an unprecedented three-peat against a determined Philadelphia Eagles squad led by game MVP Jalen Hurts and rushing champion Saquon Barkley.
During Barkley’s Super Bowl pre-game speech, which was filmed before Super Bowl LIX, he displayed his confidence in his team’s matchup against the Chiefs.
“As I watch film throughout the whole week, my confidence grows even more, and I hope you guys are feeling the same thing. These guys can’t f*** with us. They really can’t.” said Barkley. “I don’t care how many times they’ve been here; I don’t care how many times they’ve won it. They haven’t seen a team like this.”

Barkley didn’t have his best game of the season, finishing with 57 yards on 25 carries and averaging 2.5 yards per rushing attempt against the Chiefs’ stingy defense. The speech inspired the Eagles’ pass rush and Hurts’ MVP performance in the passing game.
