Clemson Tigers Wednesday night.
Hunter gave Clemson its first lead of the night with a dunk almost eight minutes in and had 18 points in the first half of an 86-72 Tigers blowout of Syracuse at Littlejohn Coliseum. The sixth-year senior from Atlanta finished the night with 23 points — his sixth 20-point game of the season.
Clemson (16-4 overall, 8-1 ACC) won its fourth straight game thanks to Hunter, who was 7-of-9 from the field and 4-of-5 from downtown in the game’s first 20 minutes. Two of his four first-half treys came as part of a 10-0 Clemson run to close the half.
No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament by ESPN, shot almost 60 percent from the field in the first half and led 48-29 at intermission.
In the second half, Clemson would lead by as many as 24 after Hunter sank a pair of foul shots to put his team up 74-50 with less than nine minutes to play in the game.
Viktor Lakhin had 16 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, and Jaeden Zackery continued his recent hot streak by finishing in double figures with 14 points.
J.J. Starling led Syracuse (9-10, 3-5) with a game-high 25 points.

The Tigers will travel to Blacksburg to face Virginia Tech Saturday night at Cassell Coliseum. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ACC Network.
