There are plenty of appealing football fixtures on Sunday with four Premier League games featuring Manchester City, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham and Manchester United, while there is also action in the Championship and Scottish Cup plus top-flight games in all the major European leagues.
We have a tip for Manchester City’s trip to Ipswich and a Yorkshire derby between Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday among our three favourite bets of the day.

Lazio to beat Hellas Verona @ 8/11
Lazio have lost ground to the top three in Serie A by winning only one of their last five matches but they have an ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways when they visit struggling Hellas Verona.
The home side have conceded more goals than any other team in Italy’s top flight, including an alarming 22 in their 10 home league games.
Paolo Zanetti’s hosts have lost nine of their last 13 matches and have failed to score in three of their last four fixtures.
Lazio won the teams’ first meeting this season 2-1 and five of their 11 league victories this season have been picked up on the road. They dropped points in a home draw with Como last time out but had been leading 1-0 before being reduced to 10 men.
Away wins at Lecce and league leaders Napoli in December, plus a 3-1 Europa League success against Ajax in Amsterdam, suggest Lazio have the quality required to beat Verona.
Special of the day
Over 2.5 Manchester City goals v Ipswich @ 21/20
Manchester City have rediscovered their scoring touch in recent games even though their defence remains an issue and they should be able to hit the net at least three times at Ipswich.
Leading scorer Erling Haaland is an injury doubt but Pep Guardiola looks to have plenty of other strong attacking options these days, with a rejuvenated Phil Foden scoring three goals in his last two starts against Brentford and West Ham.
City thrashed League Two Salford 8-0 in between those games with youngster James McAtee scoring a hat-trick and City could keep the goals flowing at Portman Road.
Ipswich conceded four goals at home to Newcastle last month and lost 2-0 to Brighton in front of their own fans on Thursday for their sixth home defeat of the season.
The Tractor Boys lost 4-1 to City when they visited the Etihad Stadium in August and the champions should manage at least three more goals this time.
Long shot of the day
Draw in Leeds v Sheffield Wednesday @ 18/5
Leeds are bang in contention for a return to the Premier League but Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday have the potential to disrupt their progress when they visit Elland Road.
Taking the Owls to upset Daniel Farke’s side at 7/1 may be a little ambitious but the visitors are a value bet at 18/5 to hold the title contenders to a draw.
Leeds have had to settle for a point in their last two league games, against Blackburn at home and Hull on the road, and Wednesday are capable of keeping tabs on them too.
Danny Rohl’s team have lost only two of their last 12 matches and are showing a strong fighting spirit, scoring late equalisers in their last two games against Millwall in the league and Coventry in the FA Cup.
Before that they beat Derby 4-2 and they have performed well on the road in a 3-3 Boxing Day draw at Middlesbrough and a 3-1 win at Oxford before that.
