In a video originally uploaded by Ozzy Osbourne's son Jack, the ABC media personality was seen wearing a bright yellow jacket with ABC News emblazoned across the left side of his chest, with reflective tape positioned above his wrists and around his waistline.
When he turned to point to the devastation behind him, you could see a wooden clothespin holding the excess material of the outerwear tightly together, presumably improving the fit of the garment for the reporter.
"Nice Jacket Bro. Glad you look nice and svelte with those clothes line pegs, while our city burns to the ground," Jack wrote in frustration. It's unclear which fire Muir was focusing on, as several are sweeping through the Los Angeles area at once.

— Jack Osbourne (@JackOsbourne) January 9, 2025But as many attacked Muir for his perceived "vanity," several stepped up to defend him, pointing out the practical applications of the clothespins.
"Probably used to keep reporters from looking like Michelin-Man in the wind," one commented, while others noted how "Oversized jackets can get caught on debris and cause safety issues" or that the coat "flapping around in the wind" could interfere with his report's sound.
"Wow. Of all things to be upset about as a city burns. Priceless," someone else agreed.
