According to the supermarket chain, shipments of Kirkland Signature Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion are unsafe for consumption.

The product, which can be found under item number 1729556 and lot code P140082, was sold in stores in the Midwest and Southeast.

Anyone who purchased the medicine between October 30 and November 30, 2024, is urged to return it to Costco for a full refund.

“LNK has initiated a recall for the accidental release and shipment of a specific lot code that was rejected due to potential foreign material contamination,” said pharmaceutical manufacturing company LNK International.

The product recall comes as a wave of winter illnesses could leave sickened shoppers rushing to the pharmacy for relief.

Health officials have been warning of a “quad-demic,” which is the combination of four major respiratory viruses that thrive in the colder months.

The illnesses include Covid-19, the flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), or adenoviruses.

Over the past few years, Covid-19 has become a much less demanding threat, but new variants and a weakened immunity could still make it deadly, according to Jackson Health System.

The flu almost always peaks in the winter months. Although infections have been lower this year than in previous years, more strains could emerge soon.

RSV is a massive threat to infants or elderly people with weakened immune systems.

In the past several years, pediatric hospitals have filled as temperatures drop and babies are sickened.

Health officials have stressed that RSV vaccines should be administered to infants, pregnant women, and older adults ahead of the holiday season.

Adenoviruses are also expected to surge in the coming weeks. These illnesses often bring respiratory infections, gastrointestinal issues, and pink eye.

If the viruses go untreated, they could lead to harrowing bouts of pneumonia, which can prove to be deadly.

HEALTH officials have warned of the so-called quad-demic as four illnesses are set to spread like wildfire in the coming weeks.

These are the sicknesses to prepare for this winter.

Covid-19 – The pandemic-causing disease has flattened in recent years thanks to vaccines, but new strains are still forming. Those at high risk should make sure they’re up to date on booster shots. Flu – Flu season traditionally peaks during the winter, depending on the efficacy of vaccines. This year, cases have been lower, but there’s still time for a surge of infections. Respiratory Syncytial Virus – RSV is a massive threat to babies and the elderly. This winter, pregnant women, parents, and others with compromised immune systems are warned to get vaccinated. Adenoviruses – These thrive in the colder months and can cause respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal issues, or pink eye. The best way to prevent catching the nasty sicknesses is by practicing health hygiene.

To prevent adenoviruses, people are advised to ensure all their vaccines are up to date and practice good hygiene.

Jackson Health officials warn that if there are any outbreaks in your area, you should take special care to prevent them from spreading.

The vomiting bug norovirus has also sparked wintertime panic as experts warn it can stick to clothes or surfaces.

Norovirus can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and full body aches, and it is highly contagious.

It’s advised to thoroughly wash clothes, bedding, and hands in order to kill the virus.
