WARREN — Donald R. King, born July 25, 1944, in Kent, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. Don was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, whose humor touched the lives of many.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Robert King and Lois Elliott; his brothers, Garry and Robert King; and his sister, Sondra “Sunnie” Stutzman.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan King; his loving children, Kelley (Gary) Labajetta and Casey (Ann) King; and his cherished grandchildren, Olivia Labajetta, Alex Labajetta, Laney King and Gwenyth King. He also leaves behind his sister, Sally (Bill) Schumann; mother-in-law, Lois Currington; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Todd and Stephanie Currington, and Brian and Julie Gates; along with numerous nephews and nieces, who will fondly remember him.
In accordance with his wishes, Donald donated his body to the Northeast Ohio Medical University, NEOMED. As a tribute to his memory, friends and family are encouraged to raise a Pabst Blue Ribbon in his honor and wish him peace. For those who feel inclined, donations can be made, in his memory, to an animal shelter or hospice care — causes that were close to his heart.
Donald R. King will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
