Inmate Dies In Calaveras County Jail ...Middle East

San Andreas, CA — A 43-year-old inmate died while incarcerated at the Calaveras County Jail. The sheriff’s office reports that the man was found unresponsive in his housing unit on November 10, possibly due to a medical event, and there were no signs of foul play. The inmate was identified as Daniel Nava. The sheriff’s office adds, “Custodial staff quickly initiated life-saving efforts as Paramedics responded and assumed life-saving measures. Despite their efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased.” Investigators from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office are conducting a thorough investigation in accordance with departmental protocol.
