Real Madrid 0 - 1 AC Milan

Real Madrid faced off against AC Milan in a clash that lived up to its high expectations. The match was tightly contested, with both teams showcasing their tactical prowess and attacking flair.  The deadlock was finally broken in the second half when AC Milan capitalized on a defensive error from Madrid. A swift counterattack saw Rafael Leão make a precise run down the left flank, evading the challenge of the full-back before delivering a pinpoint cross into the box. Olivier Giroud, ever the poacher, was ready and poised, expertly directing his header past the helpless Thibaut Courtois, sending the Milan fans into a frenzy.

Mike Maignan in goal. The Rossoneri held their nerve, with tackles flying in and crucial blocks denying the likes of Vinícius Júnior and Karim Benzema.

Milan had 10 shots, one by Christian Pulisic, the U.S. national team captain who entered in the 65th minute. Courtois stopped him on a 10-yard kick from the right side.

Playing without notables Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, among others, in the preseason exhibition series, Real Madrid coach Carlos Angelotti focused on working newcomer Moreira into the lineup for the first time.

“We ran with a younger squad, so we know it wasn’t going to be the easiest match,” Angelotti said through an interpreter. “They had a lot of possession, the momentum. They played the quicker game.”

 Samuel Chukwueze scored the decisive goal for Milan in the 56th minute to give Portuguese manager Paulo Fonseca's side Milan its second victory in two pre-season matches.

"We competed, we fought, we did some good things. The first game of the pre-season with a lot of youngsters, the important thing was to compete which we did for the whole game. There were some good moments and others we could improve on but that's normal," Ancelotti added.

The LaLiga side have already added two new superstars to their star-studded squad, bringing in Kylian Mbappe and Endrick so far.

But Ancelotti has suggested that Madrid’s business for the summer could be done and he’s happy with his current options.
