Barcelona 4-2 Valencia

Sport by : (PRESSBEE) -

Barcelona and Valencia. The home team started strong, with Lionel Messi scoring an early goal to give them the lead. However, Valencia fought back valiantly and managed to equalize before halftime.

The second half saw both teams pushing for the win, but it was Barcelona who ultimately prevailed. An inspired performance from Antoine Griezmann saw him score two goals in quick succession, putting his team ahead once again. Valencia tried to mount a comeback, but their efforts were in vain as Barcelona's defense held firm.

Fermín López put Barcelona ahead with a lovely glancing header midway through the first half.

Valencia levelled just five minutes later thanks to a woeful intervention from keeper Marc Ter Stegen. He intercepted a long ball 25 yards from his goal but he tried to be too fancy and Hugo Duro easily dispossessed him and ran the ball into the empty net.

Before halftime, Valencia took the lead thanks to another elementary mistake. Ronald Araújo’s mistimed tackle felled Peter Federico in the box and Pepelu coolly converted the spot kick.

Xavi Hernandez said he was reversing his decision to step down at the end of the season, they struggled on a wet surface after heavy rain turned the match into a frantic tussle marked by goalkeeping mistakes.

The visitors wasted a sitter from close-range through Peter Federico early and then allowed Fermín López to head home from a Raphinha cross to put Barca in front after 22 minutes.

Marc-André ter Stegen who tried to chip a clearance from the edge of the box but instead gifted the ball for the striker to equalise into the empty net.
