The CIF Southern California Regional tournaments in high school basketball and soccer got underway this week with three teams from La Jolla Country Day School participating. The first-round news was good for the Torreys’ girls basketball team, the No. 4 seed in Division I, which defeated No. 13 Orange Lutheran 64-42 on Feb. 27. The victory followed the Torreys’ 63-56 loss to Mission Hills on Feb. 24 in the CIF San Diego Section Open Division title game.
