The CDC director, Dr. Mandy Cohen, must sign off on the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ recommendation to make it final. The proposal the committee voted on was: “ACIP recommends that persons >65 years of age should receive an additional dose of 2023-2024 Formula Covid-19 vaccine.” The vote was 11 yes and one no, with one person abstaining.
