Deadpool and Wolverine, I am convinced that this movie will be an absolute game-changer.
Firstly, the chemistry between Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is undeniable. Both actors have proven their ability to fully embody their respective characters in previous films, and seeing them share the screen is a dream come true for fans. The witty banter and dynamic interactions showcased in the trailer already have me eagerly anticipating their on-screen partnership.
After nearly six years, the end of Fox’s “X-Men” movies and an acquisition by Disney, Deadpool is finally back — and he’s arrived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first trailer for “Deadpool and Wolverine” was shown at the 2024 Super Bowl on Sunday.
Ryan Reynolds‘ Merc With a Mouth back, he’s also bringing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine — who fans last saw die in 2017’s sendoff movie “Logan.”
Reynolds, 47, marked the end of filming for the sequel, directed by Shawn Levy, in a Jan. 24 Instagram post.
He wrote, "The suit hides blood. Also sweat… But today, with Deadpool wrapping, it’s mostly tears. A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes and @thehughjackman… all under the stalwart leadership of @slevydirect."
"I got to make a movie with my closest pals and that doesn’t happen very often," he added.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige appeared to subtly signal the arrival of the first trailer when he arrived at the Saturn Awards earlier in the week to accept an honor given to Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3. He was seen wearing a black baseball cap with a circular logo that was half Deadpool, half Wolverine.
Deadpool 3 will also feature The Crown's Emma Corrin and Succession's Matthew Macfadyen, as well as Deadpool and Deadpool 2 veterans Rob Delaney (Sugar Bear), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), and Stefan Kapicic (Colossus).
Deadpool 3 is the next MCU entry, but it’s also the only movie in that universe that fans are getting this year. Theaters won’t get another MCU flick until February 2025 with the release of Captain America: Brave New World, though there are a few Disney+ shows still scheduled to arrive in 2024. Subscribers can expect to check out Agatha: Darkhold Diaries this fall, with other projects like X-Men ’97, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and Eyes of Wakanda all set to start rolling out before the year is out, too.
Deadpool 3 cuts into theaters on July 26, 2024.
