Buffalo Bills lost 37-34 to the Philadelphia Eagles in overtime at Lincoln Financial Field in a game that saw no shortage of touchdowns and dramatics.
After giving up a 10-point halftime lead, Josh Allen and the Bills took over with a little over seven minutes remaining in the game. As they effectively worked the clock down under two minutes, Allen found Gabe Davis in the end zone on a quick slant to retake the lead.
After being stopped on third-and-17 from their own 41-yard line, the Eagles tied the game with a 59-yard field goal from Jake Elliott to force overtime.
Gabe Davis for a 13-yard pickup and a first down. Just two plays later, once again facing third-and-9, Allen scrambled for a 15-yard gain to keep the Bills' hopes of winning alive.
The 10-1 Eagles have trailed at halftime in each of their past four games and have found a way to come back and win all of them, which ties an NFL record.
Hurts has been a guiding force. He now has four game-winning drives on the season -- doubling his career total coming into the campaign. He also has the second-best winning percentage after trailing by 10-plus points (.450) by starting quarterbacks since 1950, behind only Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs (.560).
Olamide Zaccheaus for a 28-24 Philly lead.
Allen used a 15-yard scramble and a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty on the first drive of OT to put the Bills in position for the win. Tyler Bass - who had missed two field goals - nailed the go-ahead kick from 40 yards with 5:52 left in OT.
Hurts finished 18 of 31 for 200 yards with an interception in a matchup of two of the NFL's most dynamic QBs.
The Eagles don't. And they especially don't take it for granted with their franchise quarterback and leader — the man they look to when they need someone to follow and rally behind. He's the one they can count on when they need someone to be clutch.
