NFC South battle between the Panthers and the Saints featured No. 1 overall draft pick Bryce Young at quarterback for Carolina and offseason addition Derek Carr under center for New Orleans, but each team's stout defense controlled the game.
The Saints finally scored the contest's first touchdown late in the third quarter then pulled away late to win 20-17. The Saints head into Week 3 at 2-0, while the Panthers fall to 0-2.
Atlanta Falcons at 2-0.  While the Panthers are 0-2, dropping their first two games of the season in the division to New Orleans and Atlanta.
The Saints defense showed out again allowing just three field goals by Eddy Piñiero until 1:16 remained in the game, when Bryce Young found Adam Thielen for a 3-yard touchdown pass and two-point conversion.  That’s one week after not allowing a touchdown to the Tennessee Titans in their 16-15 win on Opening Week.
All the highlights were on one side of the ball, whether it was Frankie Luvu filling up a stat sheet with two sacks, Vonn Bell's interception, or the constant pressure on Saints quarterback Derek Carr.
The problem was the offense wasn't able to make their own plays.
The Panthers managed just 239 yards and 14 first downs (4-of-14 on third downs), and didn't get into the end zone until there was 1:16 left in the game.
After running for 154 yards last week, the Panthers ran for 100 against the Saints, but 34 of that came on quarterback scrambles.
Adam Thielen, but wasn't able to consistently connect on anything downfield.
Over to Pittsburgh, Kenny Pickett completed just 15-for-30 passes for 222 yards, one touchdown and one pick. The yardage inflated through George Pickens' 71-yard catch-and-run touchdown. It's now two rough weeks in a row for the 2022 first-rounder.
Watson, though, played worse. He completed 22-for-40 passes for 235 yards, one touchdown and one pick. He was also sacked six times and lost two fumbles. The 28-year-old struggled in Week 1 vs. Cincinnati, too. The Browns simply will need more from their $230 million quarterback because he hasn't been playing like one since last season.
