The Al Shaqab Racing-owned Almafjar produced a fine front-running performance to take the Prix Arca – Wathba Stallions Cup, a mile-long race for four-year-old and older Purebred Arabians at La Teste de Buch on Sunday. Trained by in-form trainer Elizabeth Bernard, Almafjar was ridden to success by apprentice jockey Gary Sanchez. Breaking quickly from the stalls, the four-year-old Almafjar pulled himself to the lead and travelled strongly throughout the 1,600m contest.
