American actor-director Jodie Foster will be bestowed with the honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, the organisers announced on Wednesday. As per Variety, the 58-year-old star will also be the guest of honour at the opening ceremony, at which she will get the tribute. Previously, the honorary prize was given to Jeanne Moreau, Bernardo Bertolucci, Jane Fonda, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Manoel de Oliveira, Jean-Pierre Leaud, Agnes Varda and Alain Delon.
