Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik sanctioned scholarships worth Rs 101cr for SC, ST students. The post-matric scholarships can be availed through the Odisha State Scholarship Portal and will be directly transferred to the bank account. CM Patnaik also inaugurated three ‘Akanshya’ hostels and 68 other hostels. A “My Hostel” cards was introduced for 5.75 lakh students living in hostels.  “Education is the basis of reformation and my government has always focused on the education and because of this SC&ST students have been excelling in various fields,” the CM said in his virtual address.
