Like the NBA, the WNBA All-Star voting process is done through three categories: media voting, player voting and fan voting, with the fan vote being worth half the weighting.

This season Clark received a staggering 1,293,526 fan votes.

That figure bettered Paige Bueckers‘ own count of 805,471 votes in the same position.

However, this being the 23-year-old’s first season in the league, the guard managed to eclipse the Indiana Fever star in one category.

In her rookie year Clark received a record 700,735 votes.

But that has now been eclipsed by Bueckers count which is more than 100,000 higher.

Bueckers ended the season backed by some impressive numbers.

She averaged 18.4 PPG, 5.8 APG, 4.3 RPG, and 1.8 SPG.

Her form even saw her named the WNBA Rookie of the Month gong for June as she improved her scoring to 20 PPG, including a 35 point haul against the Phoenix Mercury.

In fact, Bueckers overall vote score was higher than Clark’s, with the Iowa college graduate landing the ninth-most overall votes from her fellow professionals.

The All-Star Game is scheduled for July 19 in Indianapolis.

The captains and team draft will commence on July 8.

Clark, who put up 18 PPG, 8.9 APG, 5 RPG and 1.6 SPG, has been named as one of the captains.

She will be starring opposite Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier.

Clark was a starter on the winning team last year, but personally had a disappointing game.

She played 26 minutes and scored two of her nine field goal attempts, but landed none of her three-pointers.

However, she did manage to chip in with 10 assists.
