After Harry Brook pulled out of the IPL 2025, despite being bagged by DC for a massive INR 6.25 Cr, he was banned the league for two years. But one of the best batters now, Brook has no regrets whatsoever. In the time when the world was busy playing in the IPL, he dedicated himself to playing vs Zimbabwe and West Indies, where he scored a few runs.
Harry Brook Wants to Be Part of IPL
And then, in the first IND vs ENG Test, he went on to score a masterful 99 in the first innings, that took the hosts closer to the Indian total. Now opening up on his “difficult decision”, Harry Brook has said that he would love to play in the IPL again. “It was an incredibly difficult decision. The IPL is an amazing tournament. It’s tough cricket, with the best players in the world. The crowds and atmosphere are amazing. It is the best franchise tournament in the world. I would love to play the IPL in the future, but for the time being, the focus is on England duties,” Brook said in a media interaction organised by Sony Sports Network.
But Focus Solely on IND vs ENG Series
Soon, he turned his attention to the second IND vs ENG Tests, that is due to start on July 2 in Birmingham. The batter said that during the course of the match, spin might come into play. “Historically, the Edgbaston pitch can be flatter. There is probably more in it for spinners. Otherwise, it is generally a typical English pitch. If there is any spin – and I’m completely guessing here – it will probably be late on days three, four and five,” Brook said.
Brook went on to add that, watching Rishabh Pant bat in the first Test was a real treat. “He is an awesome player. I enjoyed watching him bat. He’s an eye-catcher; everyone turns on the television when he bats. In my opinion, he is one of the best batters in the world,” Brook said.
