ROCHESTER, N.Y. – SWAN Inc. (Southwest Area Neighborhood) honored several local public figures with an award for their dedication to the community. The organization offers programs and services to people in Rochester’s southwest quadrant.
County Executive Adam Bello, Co-Founder of MC Collaborative Andrew Carey, Senator Jeremy Cooney, Mayor Malik Evans, Assemblyman Demond Meeks, and Congressman Joseph Morelle were recognized for their contributions.
SWAN Inc. assists people in the neighborhood with programs that include family and emergency services, a senior nutrition program, a preservation program, youth programs, as well as arts and crafts.
“SWAN wanted to reach back and say thank you for those individuals that have come and helped us to be able to exist, or help us to be able to reach the neighborhood,” officials said.
