With summer well underway in the Chicago area, those looking to take advantage of the time of year with in-season produce are in luck thanks to a suburban festival this weekend.

The annual Long Grove Strawberry Fest returns this weekend, with a wide range of strawberry-flavored treats and foods, alongside strawberry-infused drinks and special menu items at nearby restaurants and food booths.

In addition to a plethora of strawberry creations, this weekend’s Strawberry Fest includes live entertainment, carnival rides, music and more.

The festival opened for the weekend at noon on Friday, and is slated to run until 11 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

The festival will open at 10 a.m. on both days this weekend, with the event ending at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

General admission for the festival is $7 per day, with children ages 12 and under granted free entry.

While tickets can be purchased both online and at the gate, a discounted price for a 3-day pass only applies when purchased online here.

The festival is centered around Long Grove’s downtown business district, surrounding the intersection of Robert Parker Coffin Road and Old McHenry Road.

More information on all of the event’s offerings can be found on the festival’s website here.
