The Golden State Warriors picked Kentucky guard Koby Brea on behalf of the Phoenix Suns at 41st overall in the 2025 NBA Draft.
The Suns gained the rights to the pick by sending picks Nos. 52 and 59 to Golden State earlier on Thursday, Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro confirmed after an initial report from ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Brea joins a glut of shooting guards in Phoenix with Devin Booker, Jalen Green, Bradley Beal, Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale among the guard crop.
Over five collegiate seasons, the last of which came in Lexington, Brea developed into a lethal shooter from deep. He led the SEC by hitting 43.5% of his 5.9 3s per game in 2024-25 after transferring from Dayton, where he led the A-10 shooting 49.8% on 6.1 attempts per game.

Many of the 3s he takes are the most difficult, coming off movement. Of the 559 field goal attempts he took the last two years, 415 were from behind the arc. Phoenix has lacked in 3-point frequency of late, so he could help there.
Brea measured in at 6-foot-5.75 without shoes with a 6-foot-5.25 wingspan, weighing 201.8 pounds.
He has called Booker a favorite player of his.
Hours before the second round began, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Phoenix and first-year general manager Brian Gregory traded two future second-rounders to the Brooklyn Nets for the 36th pick. HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reports the Suns are sending a 2026 pick that has multiple parts and is to-be-determined, plus a 2030 second-round pick that originates from the Boston Celtics.
That 36th pick was packaged with two future second-rounders to move up to No. 31, where the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Rasheer Fleming on behalf of Phoenix.
