It comes after he decided to continue playing football, despite mulling over retirement.

The 35-year-old is a superstar tight end, and is bound for the Hall of Fame when he hangs up his cleats.

However, he also has a giving heart outside of the game, and is part of many community projects.

He takes part in a lot of charity work alongside pop sensation girlfriend Taylor Swift.

And the Chiefs ace has been handed a huge award for his services.

The state of Ohio and the city of Cleveland revealed Kelce had been awarded ‘The Outstanding Leadership Award’.

It was handed out by the Won’t Quit Foundation in honor of his service and impact on the Cleveland community.

“As State Representative of Ohio’s 22nd House District, I am very pleased to extend special recognition to Travis Kelce,” wrote State Representative Darnell T. Brewer.

“Congratulations on being awarded The Outstanding Leadership Award by the Won’t Quit Foundation.

“This award honors individuals who exemplify extraordinary commitment, compassion, and service.

“It recognizes those who go above and beyond to uplift their community, inspire their peers, and make a lasting impact on the world around them.

“Through consistent action, integrity, and selflessness, they embody the true spirit of leadership and the mission of the Won’t Quit Foundation.”

Kelce had been mulling retirement since the Chiefs were hammered at the Super Bowl in February.

Andy Reid‘s team were smashed 40-22 by the Philadelphia Eagles down in New Orleans.

However, he decided he wanted to play again in 2025, with one year left on his contract.

He returned to the Chiefs’ minicamp last week, where he got back down to fitness work.

Kelce has been keeping himself in top shape in the offseason, working out regularly.

The NFL star has been bunkered down in his $20 million Florida mansion with his Bad Blood singer partner.

But his community work away from the field has always been close to his heart.

He comes from Westlake, Ohio, around 12 miles from downtown Cleveland.

Kelce has always made his hometown and where he grew up a key part of his career.

The veteran was raised alongside brother Jason, who was a Hall of Fame NFL star himself.

And he went to college at the University of Cincinnati.
