Jon Jones lands new job two days after UFC retirement: ‘Game-changer’ ...Middle East

Jon Jones, ironically, hasn’t wasted any time in landing a new job just two days after retiring from MMA.

The former UFC heavyweight champion has become a co-owner of a supplements company after turning his back on his beloved sport last weekend; making the shock announcement with Dana White revealing ‘Bones’ was retiring.

Jones had been urged for months to defend the heavyweight title against British interim champion Tom Aspinall, who was subsequently sidelined for a year waiting on the fight.

But the 37-year-old had consistently dismissed any talk of the bout ever happening, with White putting the final nail in the coffin after UFC Baku on Saturday night.

The UFC boss previously asserted Jones had accepted the fight with Aspinall, even making a rare ‘100 per cent’ guarantee the two heavyweight behemoths would meet in the Octagon this year.

However, it wasn’t meant to be, with Jones deciding to retire, meaning Aspinall was upgraded to the UFC’s official undisputed heavyweight champion.

Jones said in his official retirement statement that he was looking forward to new opportunities ahead.

And the New York native has wasted no time diving into his next chapter.

‘Bones’ took to Instagram on Monday to share news of a brand new job.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to announce my new position at Ketone as their Chief Performance Officer,” Jones wrote.

“It’s been great in the cage, but I want my true legacy to be the way that I conduct business, putting my best foot forward in everything that I do.

“Ketone-IQ has been a game-changer in my daily life, giving me more mental clarity, focus, and fuel to take me through each and every day.

“I believe in it so much that I became a co-owner of the company. Try it, this stuff slaps.

Ketone-IQ is a drinkable ketogenic supplement that supports energy for the body and brain.

According to Clevland Clinic, the process of ketosis, where your body uses fat as its main fuel source, can have several health benefits, including weight loss and lowering risk to heart disease.

Jones described himself as the UFC heavyweight champion of the world making his ‘big announcement.’

And MMA fans were quick to point out this was no longer the case.

One fan joked: “Former Heavyweight Champ…”

White is currently finalising who will face Aspinall in his first defence of the world heavyweight title.

A four-man shortlist, containing Ciryl Gane, Jailton Almeida, Alexander Volkov and Alex Pereira has emerged as potential challengers to the British champion.

No.6 ranked UFC heavyweight Almeida believes he should be the man to fight Aspinall next, but the most likely candidate is Gane, who lost a title bout to Jones in March 2023.
