Griffin, who was based in Los Angeles at the time, shared that she would fly back and forth to New York to film the talk show before eventually receiving an offer for $1.4 million.
She noted that she tried to negotiate with The View, as the amount offered wasn’t enough to uproot her life to another coast, especially as she was taking care of her elderly parents.
Griffin said she told Walters, “I'm going to be honest, this is how much money I made last year. I will show you my tax returns. I don't want you to think I'm blowing smoke, but between moving costs and I'm so entwined with my mom and dad. I have a house in Los Angeles, and it just isn't feasible for me to do, but I want you to hear it directly from me.”
