A Weld County Grand Jury has indicted a 20-year-old man for fatally shooting a teen in his car in 2021.
Greeley police arrested Moises Rodriguez-Nunez, 20, Tuesday night after the grand jury issued an indictment on a first-degree murder after deliberation charge for murdering Jacob Fooshee, according to a Weld District Attorney’s Office news release.
This case dates back to Oct. 9, 2021, when Fooshee was reported missing by his father, the release said. Two days later, the 19-year-old was found dead inside his vehicle in the 100 block of 30th Avenue in Greeley. His cause of death was a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
Fooshee was last in contact with Rodriguez-Nunez on the day he went missing, according to phone records. Location data showed the two were at the scene around the same time, but Rodriguez-Nunez’s phone later left the area while Fooshee’s phone remained put, according to the release.
Rodriguez-Nunez, currently held at the Weld County Jail on no bond, appeared for an advisement hearing before Weld Judge Marcello Kopcow on Wednesday afternoon. Rodriguez-Nunez’s next court date is a status hearing at 2 p.m. Aug. 28.
The district attorney’s office asks anyone with information about this case to contact Detective Bohl with the Greeley Police Department at 970-652-8235.
