ROCHESTER, N.Y. – When will the new Starbucks location open on the ground floor of the Five Star Bank Building in downtown Rochester?
News10NBC has been tracking the progress of the Starbucks planned for the corner of Broad and Chestnut Streets. Signs that say the new Starbucks is “coming soon” have been wrapped around the building since August of 2024. We reached out to a Starbucks spokesperson to see how soon.
Paper and plywood can be seen on the windows of the building and construction equipment can be seen on the inside. A Starbucks spokesperson said: “We are happy to confirm that Buffalo Lodging Associates will be opening a new Starbucks licensed location at 100 Chestnut Street in Rochester, NY this summer.”
Buffalo Lodging Associates is owned by Benderson Development. The developers tell News10NBC the project is on schedule to open in alignment with new YMCA offices inside the building.
“We’re currently anticipating an opening this fall,” the developer said.
Five Star Bank says construction has not impacted branch operations and they look forward to welcoming the Starbucks team and customers later this year.
At last check, the new location was not yet listed on Starbucks’ website. The developers say they will share more information as they get closer to the summer or fall opening.
