The 2025 FCS football season promises to be stuffed with one memory after another. Here’s a list of many key dates to know from July to January.
Everybody’s anticipating the first whistle of college football on Aug. 23, but there are many key dates to know before, during and after the 2025 FCS season.
The FCS again includes 129 programs and 13 leagues this season. North Dakota State is the reigning national champion, and the title game is shifting to Nashville, Tennessee, for the first time.
Following are many key dates before, during and after the 2025 FCS season (subject to change).

Oct. 22 – Jerry Rice Award Watch List announced
Oct. 25 – North Dakota State at South Dakota State (two most-recent FCS national champions)
Nov. 22 – Final full Saturday of FCS regular season, including Lehigh at Lafayette in 161st meeting (college football’s most-played series)
