LSU scored 5 runs in the frame, punctuated by a bases-clearing double from Steven Milam. West Virginia would cut into the lead with 4 runs across the 4th and 5th innings, but LSU put things away for good in the 7th.
The Tigers compiled a 6-run frame with another RBI double from Milam and a 2-run home run from Jake Brown. Together, Milam and Brown led the offense with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored apiece as LSU completed the 12-5 win to advance.
